My name is Sandy Clark and I am an Operations Manager for Datrose Incorporated. Our company is a world-class Business Process Outsourcing firm delivering “Best-In-Class” outsourced services. I recently had the opportunity to take Transformation Partners “Lean Six-Sigma Green Belt Training” and found it to be one of the best training classes I have taken. The class itself was both entertaining and instructional. Anwar El-Homsi and his staff utilized a lot of class participation that gave us practical use of the information that they were teaching. When competing in a technical industry, using the tools of Lean and Six Sigma can grant a company the advantage. The Six Sigma Black Belt course is the perfect marriage of Lean and Six Sigma techniques to prepare professionals for using Lean and Six Sigma to improve processes within their companies. Being instructed in both Lean and Six Sigma simultaneously (instead of separately) has given me a well-rounded approach to solving problems. Receiving my Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certification with Transformation Partners Company, was a great career move for me. As an Industrial Engineer with a good deal of experience under my belt, I went into the course thinking that I knew a lot of the material they would cover. I learned much more than I expected. The course not only expanded my skill set, but also further reinforced things I had learned in the past. I even discovered how to apply the tools I learned to non-manufacturing industries. In November, I lost my job due to a work consolidation program. Having the Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certification was the big difference in my job search this time around. More companies, including large well known firms, were interested in me and the skill set I brought to the table because of the certification. My Black Belt Certification, especially the Lean aspect of it, is typically the first thing that employers said they liked about my background. I have had six interviews in less than three months of being laid off, this period includes the Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday seasons which are typically slow for job seekers. I recently became employed again, but I am still receiving inquiries from recruiters and companies about my availability for interviews. In addition, I was able to negotiate a higher salary because of my Black Belt Certification. The course has also expanded my network of peers. My classmates were from a variety of companies and professions. This gave me a wide array of valued expertise to draw upon. I still keep in contact with many of the people from my class. I am a student of Lean Six Sigma (LSS) program taught by Transformation Partners under the leadership of Mr. Anwar El-Homsi. I just completed the third week of the program and significantly progressed towards completion of my project. The Instructor’s skillful teaching made the Six Sigma philosophy easy to understand and subsequently to practice it in my daily routine at work as well as at home. The instructor’s expertise and knowledge in Statistical methods and analyses were evident in his presentations and the examples he chose to illustrate the LSS and statistical concepts. TPC’s program and his knowledge, skills, and experience in solving problems associated with and increasing efficiency of wide range of manufacturing processes made it very easy for me and to the class to understand and apply LSS techniques to our own businesses.
